Yes, there is a free trial class and there is absolutely no pressure for you to sign up. We want to make sure that this is something you really want to do. All we require is that you read and sign the consent form prior to your trial class. Also, if you intend to borrow a gi you need to notify us in advance so that we have the appropriate size on hand.
What are the monthly payment options?
The cost you pay per month depends on how many days a week you train. Please see pricing sheet
When are monthly payments due?
All monthly payments are due by the 5th of the month. If you would like to set up a payment plan that is possible. Some participants opt to pay their monthly dues in two installments. One in the beginning of the month and one mid month. Other options are available. If no one is available to take your payment, a drop box is available. Place your money in an envelope labeled with your name and the reason for the payment. Then next to your name on the sign in sheet write the words paid and the amount and check number if applicable. Are there any hidden costs? No, there are no hidden costs. There is only a one time registration fee. If you already have a gi (uniform for class) then the registration cost is $50 and includes a school patch. If you do not have a gi already, then the registration cost is $100 and includes a standard gi, and belt. It does not include a school patch
If I would like to join in the middle of the month do I have to pay for the whole month?
No, you would not have to pay for the whole month. We would prorate you for the portion of the month that you attend for that first month. Depending on when you start influences the rate and is dealt with on an individual basis.
What are drop-ins?
Drop-ins are payment options for those people who can not make it to class regularly but would still like to attend classes occasionally. We only allow 3 drop ins per month at the rate of $15 per class. All drop in rates must be paid prior to the start of class. A drop in box is available on the table. Place your money in an envelope labeled with your name and the reason for payment. Then next to your name on the sign in sheet write the words paid and the amount and check number if applicable. All Drop in participants are still required to pay the registration fee.
What are your family rates?
We do provide discounts for multiple family members. The discounts only apply to immediate family members. The discounts offered can save a family $5 to $10 off per person per month. For exact family discount rates email cheryl.goo@ymail.com Registration rates still apply at $100 or $50 per person.
What is the youngest age we teach?
We recommend age 5 and over but really it all depends on the child. We have had some start as young as 4 years old but we would rather a parent wait until their child seems ready. We want to make sure that this is a positive and fun experience for each child and therefore we would like them to be able to follow direction, focus and feel confident enough to get on the mat. A toddler class is coming soon for children ages 3 and 4. The class will be thirty minutes long and it will be a parent participation program that allows children to work their large motor skills. They will play games, as well as learn some fundamental movements that can carry over to the older kids classes when they are ready to progress on.
Do I have to train on the same day every week or can I rotate the days I train?
No, you do not have to train on the same day every week. In fact you can rotate which days you come to class but you MUST sign in at the beginning of each class so we can keep track of which days you attend. We will check the sign in sheet daily and physically match names as well as do a head count.
Am I stuck in a contract if I sign up?
No, you are not stuck in a contract if you register. You are not required to stay in our program for a certain amount of time. We only require monthly or drop-in participation. Unfortunately if you drop out in the middle of the month we will not provide you with a prorated mid month refund. We anticipate that you will enjoy learning and training with a great group of people. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. There is no gossiping, cliques or politics to deal with and we insure that everyone here feels that it is a positive experience.
What if I would like to purchase a colored gi like I see in class?
This is an option as they are lighter in weight. We suggest waiting to make sure that this is something you are certain you would like to continue doing before making the financial investment. We do receive special rates on gis. These costs are passed on to you. Some items we carry in stock and others we must order. If you decide to order a gi from us and you do not have one yet, a loaner gi would be provided to you at no cost until the gi you ordered has come in. The loaner gi needs to be cleaned before returning it to us.
If I want to register and buy a colored gi instead of the standard gi is that possible?
Yes, it is possible to buy a colored gi instead of the standard gi. You would pay for the cost of the special gi you are purchasing and the $50 registration fee. You would receive a school patch as well. Please contact Eric for more info 381-7838.
Do you teach no gi classes?
No gi classes are held on Tuesday and Thursdays. Please check the calendar for current times.
