Mad Tiger Academy Promotions!
Last night was promotion night at Mad Tiger Academy! After a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment Monica Oakley received her Orange Belt while Louis Oakley, Stevie Yuh, Dylan Cabral and Jarret Vasconcellos received their blue belts. Good luck guys and remember to enjoy the journey and keep training. The blue belt is the first step on the path to the black belt and also the last step for more than half the people who receive it! Keep training, never give up and work hard, it only gets better!

Saulo visits the Mad Tiger Academy!
On December 23rd, co-f0under and head of the Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu Association, Saulo Ribeiro, did a phenomenal seminar for association members and invited guest. Saulo started off with a very effective and efficient warm up that got every one sweating. He then went into the technique portion, after the first sequence (guard posture, a few techniques to open closed guard, and a pass) every one was blown away. Mad Tiger Phase 2 Grand Opening
After a lot of hard work the Mad Tiger Family came together to celebrate the official opening of phase 2. With the addition of the space next door the Academy essentially double in size! Big Mahalo to all the families, friends and supporters that make the Academy a special place. Big things are in store for 2012!

Caio Terra Seminar
The week of December 10th Mad Tiger Academy hosted multiple time world champ Caio Terra from the institute of martial arts (http://www.bjjsanjose.com/). Caio is the only 4 time no-gi world champ and one of the few light weights who competes and wins the absolute division regularly!

Caio Terra coming to Mad Tiger Academy!
5 time world Champ and the only 4 time no gi world champ, Caio Terra is coming to Mad Tiger Academy! On Wednesday December 7th from 4:00pm-5:30pm he’ll be conducting a kids seminar and on Saturday, December 10th from 2:00pm-5:00pm he’ll be conducting an Adult seminar. Mad Tiger Academy at No-Gi Worlds!
Mad Tiger Academy took 4 members (and met a past member) to this years No-Gi World Championship. Over all it was an epic trip! Huge congrats to all those who competed and help the team get ready! The Gorilla took home some bling getting 2nd in his division and 3rd in the open! Look forward to returning to the mainland in March for Pan Ams, OSS
Kid Peligro Seminar!
On Saturday, October 15th we were blessed to have Jiu Jitsu legend Garry “Kid Peligro” Costa conduct a seminar at the Mad Tiger Academy. The seminar was filled with game changing details and concepts. If you missed it, you really missed out! Obrigado kid! We look forward to your next visit to the Islands.
Great Night of Fights
GREAT night of fights in arguably one of the states best venues for a fight! Mad Tiger Academy Mililani and Hayabusa sponsored fighters went 2-0 on the night. Zac “The Savage” Shepard won impressively in his MMA debut and Kyle Foyle in only his second MMA fight took home the 155lb. belt over 9-2 former champ Kevin Soong.
One of the biggest high lights at the Kaua’i Knockout Championship was the fight Doctor coming up to us not once but twice after our fights to let us know that in ALL the years on Kauai working these fights he never saw so much sportsmanship, humbleness and technique by our fighters. THIS is the direction MMA n Hawaii needs to go people. Represent the sport well and it can and will take you places. I wish more schools and or garage “fight teams” would instill this level of respect and humbleness in there fighters!

Expansion Complete!
With the arrival of the mats, the dream finally became a reality, Mad Tiger BJJ version 2.0 is officially complete! Big Mahalo to every one who supported and continues to support Mad Tiger Academy. With out every one’s help none of this could be possible.
